At Beyondia Meguro, our PE lessons are led by a specialist teacher who helps children build the physical skills they need before starting elementary school. Through fun activities like bar exercises, jump rope, and mat work, we focus not only on developing strong, healthy bodies but also on nurturing a positive “I can do it!” spirit.
What Each Class Does based on Age
1–2 years old class
At this age, we introduce simple exercises to strengthen the arms, since many children nowadays find it hard to put their hands out when they fall. Running, jumping with both feet, and trying playful forward rolls (“kururinpa”) with teachers all help children naturally develop core strength and climbing ability—while having lots of fun turning their bodies upside down.
3 years old class
Our three-year-olds enjoy mat activities, stop-and-go games with rules, and hanging from the bar while supporting their bodies with their legs. Through playful running and jumping, they practice balance, arm strength, and rule-following, while also starting to build the confidence to take on challenges.
4 years old class
With activities like jumping over mats placed on the vaulting box and supporting their weight with both hands, children strengthen their core and body control. Relay races and tag relays also give them the chance to learn about teamwork, rules, and cooperation. Along the way, they develop quick reflexes, good judgment, and even empathy for their friends.
5 years old class
Our oldest preschoolers take on the challenge of jump rope, learning how to time the swings and find their rhythm. By practicing again and again, they build stamina, rhythm, concentration, and perseverance. Just as importantly, they learn the joy of not giving up and the satisfaction of achieving their goals.
Through these PE lessons, children at Beyondia Meguro discover the joy of moving their bodies while steadily growing stronger, more confident, and ready to face new challenges.
