On July 5, 2025, we held the long-awaited Sports Day at Beyondia International School Yamata Kindergarten!
The children had been practicing little by little since spring, and on this special day, they gave their best in events and performances suited to their age and class. It became a truly moving day filled with growth and joy.
1- to 2-Year-Old Classes (Penguin & Dolphin)
Since April, the children had been practicing running. Some of them found it difficult at first to start at the sound of a whistle, but on the day, they stood proudly at the starting line and ran all the way to the finish!
During the parent-child activities, everyone enjoyed a Lilo & Stitch-themed race and parachute play, creating heartwarming and joyful moments filled with smiles.
3-Year-Old Class (Orca 1)
The Orca 1 class challenged themselves with running and a Mario dance!
When their names were called, they confidently replied, “I’m here!” and ran with all their might toward the finish at the cue “Ready, set, go!” — showing clear signs of growth.
In the Mario dance, they gave a cheerful and energetic performance to the music. The loud applause from families became a proud and confidence-boosting experience for the children.
4-Year-Old Class (Orca 2)
Orca 2 students challenged themselves with forward rolls, skipping, and team games!
For the forward rolls, they repeatedly practiced curling their bodies and rolling smoothly, paying attention to hand and head placement. The results of their hard work showed in their confident performance on the day.
5-Year-Old Class (Orca 3)
The Orca 3 class took on the challenge of group gymnastics!
Starting with individual skills like bridges and one-legged poses, they then moved on to partner balance acts like the shachihoko and team formations like the kabuto done in threes. Their serious, focused expressions as they performed each pose left a strong impression.
As they encouraged one another and performed confidently, the audience responded with big, heartfelt applause.
4- and 5-Year-Old Relay Race
The final event of the day was a relay race between the Blue Team and Yellow Team!
Although there were tears of frustration during practice, those experiences helped the children push forward with determination on the day. They supported one another, celebrated the winners, and showed great sportsmanship.
“If we lose, we’ll try harder next time.” “We can say congratulations to our opponents.” “If we win, we praise others for doing their best.”
Through sports, the children showed wonderful emotional growth as well.
This year’s Sports Day was once again full of shining moments and growth from every single child.
Thank you so much to all the families who participated and cheered us on!
