On January 30th and 31st, our school – Beyondia International School Meguro held a Kimono Experience & Photo Session across all classes.

We were delighted to welcome a professional photographer from Happily Photo Studio, who captured the children’s natural expressions and many beautiful moments throughout the day.

As the children slipped into brightly colored kimono, some appeared a little shy at first. But with gentle guidance and a relaxed atmosphere, their faces soon lit up—smiles grew, poses blossomed, and the excitement of the special occasion filled the room!

This hands-on experience of seeing, touching, and wearing kimono had offered children a meaningful opportunity to connect with traditional Japanese culture. It was a memorable moment that allowed them to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of the culture around them.

At Beyondia International School Meguro, we value learning experiences that allow children to explore cultures from around the world.

This kimono experience offered a meaningful opportunity for the children to feel connected to Japanese traditional culture, reflect on their own daily lives and cultural roots, deepen their understanding, and spark curiosity toward the many diverse cultures across the globe!
